Should they ban fat santa?

Thunder Robot Asked by funadvice 11 months ago, 18 answers.

I was watching the news and they were talking about how some people wanted a Santa who was thin. They feel that Santa that is sending the wrong messages to kids with his weight. I think that Santa is fat and fit (healthy).
Whats your take on it?

Would...

want you a thinner Santa instead of the traditional Santa Clause?

And yes, I know that he ain't...

In a world where being ultra-skinny is perceived as being the in-thing, we need as many fat role models as we can to show that being fat isn't wrong. Keeping Santa as a jolly fat man is a must!

OTOH you can point to Santa and tell your kids that is what happens when you have too much cookies and hot chocolate.

Santa can be a good bad example!

Who the heck thought of that?! That is silly... Santa has never influenced me in my weight gaining or losing decisions and I doubt any other kids look at him and think as a role model for the perfect body! Would that mean we would get rid of all the songs and stories that mention Santa's weight too, or just "change them" to suit the new, thin Santa?! That is ridiculous!

Good Lord, Humanity has gone to hell.

Santa, the patron saint of giving to children and good-will, is considered to be a bad influence on children??

I am sick of humanity and sick of irresponsible parents, those that grasp for straws in order to place blame on anyone but themselves.

Hmm, my 5 year old is obese, but it isn't my fault- it's McDonald's Happy Meals, and America's media, and SANTA!!

I try to remain optimistic and confident in humanity's inherent goodness, but sadly, I am slowly losing my resolve.

you could dress up Mr. Clean in a santa suit and it would look the same. it's the suit that is bulky. lardy fat and big boned is not the same.Santa is never lazy-like lardy fat. He works hard and has big muscles. But he does eat those cookies and milk every year so he likes the eating. It makes for happy.

If Santa is fat it's because he is. If you had fat parents would you ban them too?? Sounds a bit silly to me.

if santa was skinny that would just ruin everything. he HAS to be fat. santa just isnt going to magically lose weight. its traditon. its liek saying the easter bunny is now a cat. it just wouldnt make sense. theres no need for him to change.

What if the santa isn't fat? Is he our santa? Maybe not again. We love our fat santa. He brings joy to children, adult even the old. People don't need a thin santa. I don't think there is anything wrong with being fat or overweight. Fat people can also live health. Just like the big people at largeplace.com.

Keep Santa fat! If they were to make Santa skinny, that would send out a bad message too. It'd probably make people feel even more horrible about their weight because they aren't what American likes to call "skinny".

Well, in my opinion, I think were used to it's like, now, we cant imagine him thin, but if he was thin, we can't imagine him fat. Keep him the same. A skinny wierd, red guy laughing will look odd, but when he's fat, its good

no, it's retarded. it's like changing the cookie monster to the veggie monster. don't change tradition, or blame the fact that your kid is a fatass because of santa.
