Bad situation

A friend just called me and told me he was going to the hospital b/c his neice is extremely sick. He's worried and called me b/c he needed somebody to talk to. He said he would call me back alter when he foun dout what was going on. I like being there...

for people, especially him b/c me and him have kinda had a thing before. But I have no idea what to say in situations like these. I don't want to say the wrong thing! Someone help!

Well, if I were you this is what I would say...
(if he were getting really emotional over the situation yet he calls before he finds out then say:
"Worrying won't do anything, and crying won't make things better... But I'll be here, so tell me about it. Don't worry... It'll make doubts. Just believe that your niece will be fine... I'll pray for you AND your niece."
and if somethings happens to his niece where ... :
"I'm so sorry... Do you want me to come to you...? I want to help."
And if that DOES happen then you go to where he is. Then you tell him to let it all out. Cry, kick, scream, shout. Anything that'll make him feel better. And all you have to do is be a shoulder for him to cry on.
