Back to school...with a problem

hi... I'm going back to school... but I'm being made repeat a grade... 7th... for unknown and unclear reasons, and I like this girl, but don't know how to talk to her seeing as how she'll be an 8th grader and I won't , but lives in my town, so my...

questions are; What are some good ways to talk or communicate with her? I think she like's me but I'm not sure- she seems interested in me, likes to talk to me in particular, has never talked to me a whole lot since late this summer, do you think she likes me? she likes a few people so I dont want to entirely want to come off as 'in love' or something like that- refer to my first question. what do girls want guys to say? I'm kind of smart-common sense/street smarts, but not book smart, wich makes me look socialy awkward compaired to my friends, should I let go of them(school hours)? Not many other people like me because sometimes I can have no sense of humor like they do... Kat also finds it quite annoying, will that have much effect? I also suck at talking to her, any ideas on how to overcome that fear?
