he is FAR too early to be potty trained.

god you have only had him 7 months...why in such a hurry to 'train' him. if you try and do it, you WILL traumatize him, and HE WILL end up with potty training issues...

is this a joke? potty training shouldn't be even tried really until child is 20 moths old AT earliest and thats only if they are showing signs of being aware of motions...

I have to agree with sooitca, he is too young to be potty trained. To be potty trained he needs to be able to understand "why" he has to go potty, he can't do that yet. He will also need to be able to hold his pee and poop, he also does not have the skill to be able to do that.

My daughter was potty trained at 18 months, personally I can't believe that happened. But she is also the third child and I was potty training my middle one, so she thought she should go also.

There's no way you can potty train him until he can walk on his own... so 7.5 months is way too early...

all the kids in my house(5) were potty trained around their
2nd to 3rd year depending on how quickly they were learning other abilities
such as feeding themselves , learning how to use the vcr(so they can pop in tapes whenever)
and ofcoarse communication skills.I belive they learned it quickly because as "colethky" said there were more children in the house .
I belive this is because of good old fashioned human competition!!!
so once your baby grows a bit more and the time does come to pottytrain find other kids to hang out with that have either already learned or that are learning as well

good luck

OMG, no way you are going to get a 7 month old to use the potty! My son just turned 2 and we are just still working on it. Just wait because it is not going to work!

I think you should wait until 9-12 months to try...I found a site for early potty training...

pottytraining.com.au

Your baby should at least be trying to walk and should have a pretty set eat/sleep/wake/potty schedule! Good Luck!

Follow Up on My Above Answer:

My daughter is 9 months old. I just fed her less than a half-hour ago, and while sitting in her highchair, she started making her "poopie face". So I decided to go and put her on the potty! Lo and Behold, she went..."poopie and pee pee"!!! I was so excited!! I clapped for her and she clapped with me!!! Now granted, she doesn't know why we were celebrating, but if I keep it up, everytime I see "that face", she'll eventually figure it out...and trust me, it will definitely be before she makes her 2nd birthday!! Be encourage!!
