Ah... Congratulations are in order! I know what you mean, my son was my first and was nameless for almost a week until I saw a Steven Segal movie in Oct 1990 (forget which one now) where he played an cop (big surprise there) and Segal flashed his badge and I read "Niccolo..." That was it for me, as his father is Italian. As for my daughter's name, I got it from my cousin's wife who delivered her. Her name is special to her now and she wants to become a doctor too, just like the woman who helped me bring her in the world. Just look for a heart grabber or something that you have a feeling the baby will appreciate later on in life.

Maybe there are some people in your families that you think highly of and would like to honor with making your child their namesake. They could be living or someone special who has passed away...what better way to show someone how much you love them.
If a boy, maybe consider making them a Junior by taking your husbands name and start a tradition of your own.
In my family all the girls have the middle name of Ann....and it feels nice to be tied to previous generations and then have the privelege of passing it on.
Another way to pick a name,(depending on your religion) is to find a Saint's name that represents something special to you (ie: Francis if an animal lover - every saint represents something) Or maybe a name that is very tied to your ethnic background....congratulations and good luck!
well we called our first son jake john because his grandad is called john, and we called our other son justin thomas because his other grandad wanted us to call him thomas as his name is terry but did not want to call him terry because he hates his name lol. but if we have a girl its middle name will be michelle after my mum, its just the first name that I want the baby to have as its own. the babys dad wants jason for a boy or jesica for a girl but I dont like them, I like summer for a girl or lacey and anthony for a boy, but he does no like them so im trying to get a name we both can agree on, if not ill let him pick as I did pick justin for our other son, thank you ems348
erm it depends on you, and how you imagine you girl or boy will be, a very angelic name for a girl is beth, angel, chole and boy is, matthew, david, jason and orginal names where you can just mix to together. Or unisex names which I really like, jamie, leigh, harry, ect.
My wife and I were pregnant 5 years ago.
Here are the names we both liked and agreed on
Boy: Blake Reid Grant
Girl: Zoe Emma Claire
Here are names my wife liked but I didn't:
Boy: Cooper
Girl: Blake Mackenzie
Here are names I liked but my wife didn't:
Boy: Cyrus
Girl: Georgina Lydia
