ask him why and if he says he doenst know- he's not being open and honest.
he knows why he feels uncomfortable and after its in the open it will be easy for you to let him know how silly he is being. And he has every right to kiss his daughter and its perfectly normal and he should feel comfortable. theres a prob he needs to face.
its probebly something little that he doesnt relise is so easy to fix. Maybe its something as silly as he's nickname as a kid was petafile pete (im not saying this is a possibility, just an examople of silly his issue may be) and this gave him a complex which has ramifications to this day???
could be a million reasons but I bet its something small and easy to deal with once he can tell the truth about what prevents him from doing something so normal. He will prob find it very hard to say the complete truth because he's had a complex about something for so long with never telling anyone and no one noticing before.
How old is he? My father was taught not to show affection when he was a child, his parents didn't hug and kiss him and he didn't hug and kiss me or my sister. It could be that or a number of other reasons. My brother-in-law wouldn't even change my niece's diaper because he was afraid people would suspect him of doing something wrong. I know that's crazy but that is how some people think. Good luck and be safe.
I have a little daughter and I rarely kiss her. I love her though, so what's the problem?
Kissing is so much of a cultural thing though. Some cultures do a lot of it and others dont. My culture doesn't. Kissing is mainly used in modern western countries as a sign of affection. In other countries it is used as a sign of respect.

Its just like hugging, which is treated and done differently in other cultures too.
So, don't worry if he does not kiss your daughter. Once in a while I'll kiss my daughter, but now she thinks its "icky" :-)
Well, some people are raised that affection isn't really proper. My Grandma (who raised me) has never gave me a hug, except when its been a while since we've seen each other.. and we dang sure have never hugged in public! Affection is usually taught by the parents. My husband was taught a lot of it, and it drives me crazy sometimes! Especially when we're in public. Maybe your husband just doesnt know how to show affection to a small child.
aww when my daddy used to try and give me hugs and kisses, I'd make a game of it and run away from him. Im 18 now, and I have never reall accepted kisses from my dad. I dont tell him I love him neither verbally and neither does he. But I love him and I know he loves me too. I feel bad sometimes though, because I love kisses and hugs from my mommy!
