Are people born with the ability to write poetry?

Are people born with the ability to write poetry? Im good in other forms of writing but when it comes to writing poetry, I dont do well. Are people born with the ability to write it?

sort of.

me, for instace, I was born artistic and seem to have a knack for rhyming words, but I didn't like poetry. Or so I thuoght. My teacher this year taught us about more types of poetry, ones that are very unusual that people usually forget about.

I got grown to those ones and write down all my thoughts in poetry form..

So you decide!! If you are like me, I'd try free verse, or rhytem (sp?) poems..

IT'S ALL IN YOUR IMAGINATION! I WRITE POETRY BETTER THAN LETS SAY ESSAYS LOL - BUT BEFORE I WRITE A POEM I PICK A SUBJECT - JOT DOWN ALL OF THE THINGS THAT COME TO MIND - THEN I WORK OFF OF THAT FOARMING SENTENCES - AND TO GET THINGS TO RHYME I WRITE THE WORD DOWN THE ALPHABET, AND GO THROUGH LETTER BY LETTER TRYING TO RHYME WITH THAT WORD OR FIND SOMETHING THAT SORT OF SOUNDS LIKE IT SO IT FLOWS!

I believe so.
I think some people are just born with that talent.They see things in different ways.Often more observative than others.Everyone can write.but only a secelt few can write poetry

yes I have been writing poetry since I was like 7 or 8... its really cool

I think so, I've been writing poetry since I was 12. it all comes to your head, poetry is not something to think of to write. its something that just comes out of your mind.

it is possible! but I am sure every1 can write poems even if it is as simple as "roses are red violet are blue... ect." or like me... well I will fun mail it to u! I dont want any-one to steal it lol
