I don't 'love' george bush, but I 'like him a lot'.
he did what needed to be done.
I guess that some people feel that it is alright to kill americans.
I guess that some people feel it alright to allow an insane madman to rule a country by fear, and to kill innocent kurds or anyone who disagreed with him.
and it could be said that it is alright to allow the same madman to aspire to use chemical weapons to kill countless more innocent people.
however- I am not among those people.
I am glad that we attacked the taliban and their sponsored terrorist organizations.
I am glad that we are killing bin ladens associates
I am glad that saddam hussein was taken out of power and hung like the evil villian that he was.
I am glad that saddams sons are now off the face of the earth.
so it could be said that I am extremely glad for george w's leadership, and backbone to do what needed to be done.
so if you believe in women being treated like they are lower than dogs.
and you believe that a madman has the right to develop weapons of mass destruction.
and you believe that women should be raped and tortured to satiate someones psychotic impulses.
and you believe that people should be tortured and killed because their beliefs are different from the ruler of the country.
and you believe that the united states and its citizens should be targets for whatever terrorist of the day decides to do to us, without any repercussions for doing so.
then that is your right.
I however believe that the world IS a better place because of george bush's decisions as president.
not a PERFECT world, but a BETTER one.
I don't think it's alright to kill Americans, baldwinwolf. We let Bin Laden, the guy who actually did that go. Saddam had no weapons of mass destruction, remember? He didn't even have chemical weapons left. Al Qaeda weren't in iraq until we got there. We should have finished the job in Afghanistan and got bin laden before doing anything else.
Our soldiers come back and can't even get proper rehab or psychological treatment. I don't see Bush sending his daughters over to help as medics or anything.
If you want to take out oppressive madmen with weapons of mass destruction, why are we letting kim jong il survive? He is truly crazy and has ADMITTED that he has NUCLEAR WEAPONS!! He has threatened the US and our allies with them. He fires missiles at Taiwan and Japan as TESTS. But he doesn't have oil or other natural resources we can rape, so we don't bother with him.
We would be safer today if we didn't go into iraq and had concentrated on the real perpetrators of 9/11. Don't try to cover up that Bin Laden is still on the loose. Saddam did not bring down the towers.
baldwinwolf...AMEN! Can I get a hallelujah?!
But to answer your question, superfly, no, I do not "love" George Bush. "Love" is used too much these days.
I do, however, give him my support. I do agree with most of his decisions, and I do not make fun of him; I have more respect for him than that.
Most of the people who make fun of him would probably chicken out if they had to face half the things he does.
shundarr, your answer doesn't quite make sense to me.
Maybe that's because I'm not too intelligent.
But our president received an education and a degree from Harvard. He's served in the military before and has held various governmental positions. He also has way more information being provided to him than we do. Do you get a report every morning about the state of the world? How about just the nation? Judging by the looks of your profile, you like to dress up as "Chav Scum" and answer questions about penises and give advice on how to be more aggressive in bed.
So who would I rather see leading our nation?
I think the answer is obvious.
YOUR president got C's in college and he's a drunk. I do get a report about the state of the world every day. it's called the news, and unlike your president, I actually read it and make thoughtful decisions not based on voices in my head like he does.
I will not apologize for disliking the filthy British and mocking them. We beat them once and hopefully someday we will do the right thing and beat them out of Northern Ireland. Inbred limeys.
I wouldn't want to be president, anyway. I already make more money.
Okay, so you read the news. Congratulations! Most of it is slanted. And do you really think that it has every single thing in it? I bet there's tons of stuff that the president knows about that we don't.
And if he really is such a dumb drunk, don't you think that he would've been out of office earlier instead of serving two full terms?
Also, I'm sorry you hate the British people so much. Prejudices are a terrible thing.
I think shundarr has missed the point, sure kim jong il is a madman- but we are currently dealing with him through diplomatic channels, I believe that was in the news a little while ago.
and to argue the point, saddam DID have weapons of mass destruction, he used them on the iranians, he killed kurds, just because they disappeared after our ultimatum doesn't mean they never existed.
and I agree that al qaeda most likely wasn't in iraq when we attacked, but hey why look for them all over the world when we know they will show up to join in the war.smart hunters know how to 'bait' their intended target- military strategy 101.
we are all aware that bin laden is still on the loose, you try to coordinate a search through the mountain range he was hiding in- it is a very difficult task indeed.
as far as the veterans go- I am an active supporter off the VFW, I agree that they need more support- how much have you given to that cause?
our country is taking care of past mistakes we have made, someone needs to.
and I AGREE with country girl, our government has access to information that we will most likely never know about, that is not a conspiracy- it is simply the way it is.
my previous statement stands
if you agree with what the taliban and saddam were doing then that is your right.
I happen to not agree with the way things were in afghanistan, as well as iraq.
our british allies have shed blood along side of us as well ,they deserve the same respect as our servicemen.
the world is not perfect, probably never will be, but it is what we've got. for better or for worse, I personally choose to not ignore threats in the world to us or our allies.
I believe in taking out terrorists wherever they are.
AND I WILL SAY IT AGAIN- I SUPPORT GEORGE W. BUSH AS WELL AS OUR TROOPS AND ALLIES.
AND YES , OUR WOUNDED TROOPS NEED MORE SUPPORT AS WELL- SUPPORT THE VFW.
Don't lump the taliban and saddam together. saddam was not in league with al qaeda or the taliban, so stop spreading that lie. al qaeda deserves to be hunted down. they actually attacked the United States. saddam was contained with no weapons of mass destruction. you are very naive if you think there was evidence to the contrary it wouldn't have been brought before the world to lessen the damage done when it became clear that the justification for the invasion of iraq was a house of cards. I know saddam had weapons of mass destruction. we gave him that capability so he could fight iran. there is no evidence, however that he had capability when we attacked. don't you think he would have used them if he was a terrorist madman? I suppose you think he didn't use them to make the U.S. look bad later, because that is the kind of logic an evil dictator would use.
Your analogy about baiting al qaeda is ridiculous. do you seriously believe that we really invaded iraq so we could turn the country into a terrorist killing field at the expense of hundreds of thousands of innocent lives and billions of dollars? That idea is more evil than the truth that it is the result of a greedy and incompetent Republican administration.
I believe in taking out terrorists, too. saddam was not a terrorist threat to the United States. we had him contained so he was not even a regional threat. now al qaeda and the taliban are getting more pwerful in afghanistan again and the opium is being cultivated out of control, funding a new wave of worlwide terrorism. if we had concentrated our efforts in afghanistan and the taliban controlled area of pakistan we may be close to wrapping up operations there and have osama.
clearly we have to clean up the mess we've made in iraq. my final message on the subject is that george bush and his administration were one of the most incompetent (at best, corrupt at worst) in United States history. this has been evidenced by the constant merry-go-round of resignations of top officials. The U.S. is less secure now than it was before the invasion of iraq. we have a huge deficit and the economy is going down fast thanks to greed and financial mismanagement.
stand by your man, though. soon he'll be out and we can spend the next 20 years cleaning up the mess.
I am not a naive individual.
the most dangerous weapon on the planet is the human mind, saddam demonstrated on many occasions his willingness to use brutality, and chemical weapons.
so folowing that logic- he did posess w.m.d.s when we captured him- his evil mind.
I lumped al qaeda and saddam together because that is historically the courses of action that the u.s. has taken.
and for what ever reason YOU accept as the reason we went into iraq, the results are clear and unmistakeable- al qaeda did show up for the fight, and we have killed them.
the bush administration did not create saddam husseins administration- did not create the taliban government.
we are cleaning up the mess.
you missed my point entirely on my first statement.
read it again.
do you support what saddam hussein was doing in iraq?
do you support serial, rape, torture, murder?
do you support killing people of your own country and placing them in mass graves?
( oh yeah- the mass graves are historical fact)
do you support the use of nerve agents to kill said people?
you have the right to bash bush all you like- but as far as I am concerned if you are not with the u.s. in this fight - then you are a supporter of the evil which was anihilated.
it is a black and white issue. for or against.
and whatever name the terrorists were using in iraq- saddam was in league with 'terrorist organizations' which you can choose to see or not.
I noticed you side stepped my VFW question- how much have you given to help the wounded of this war???
if you have so much money - don't sit back and complain about it- do something to help.
try not using so many racial slurs, it is not very becoming.
and I am proud to support president bush- AT LEAST HE KNOWS THAT CIGARS ARE MADE FOR SMOKING AND NOT A CHEAP PHALLIC THRILL TO USE ON INTERNS IN THE WHITE HOUSE.
that is my final word on the subject.
I don't know where you're seeing racial slurs.
I don't support saddam's torture, but I don't support kim jong il's torture, or the millions who died in angola, or the genocide in sudan, and on and on. just a coincidence we picked this fight??
It isn't a black and white issue. I can be for our troops and against the morons who sent them into the grinder without the correct force level and protection. I don't have to answer to anyone but myself how much I do to support the troops.
