Anybody have any opinions about the rebate checks being sent out?

Somewhere around $600-$1200 to be sent to everyone who pays taxes in the next few months. Anyone else happy about it? It's supposed to be spent on new stuff to help the economy. Lots of people are going to use it thou on bills instead. Anyone think its...

just a bandaid? Or is it great?

2 me, $600 is better than $0.

I think it's a good idea...but, raising the minimum wage would do a lot more for the economy.

Oregon has 8.50 for a minimum wage, far above the national average. And you never hear that they have the kind of economic woes that the country, as a whole, has.

My opinion, I think it's a good idea as long as all who qualify are legal.

Although it does sound like a good deal to get 600 dollars for single people and 1200 for couples plus 300 forevery child you have. What they dont inform you about is that they wll tax you that amount the folloing tax year.
