Blair Witch Project wasn't scary.
They is a good movie, it scared me quite a bit, and I dont get scared easily. (yes its called "They"
Final Destination 3 isnt scary but its good at sleepovers (even if you havent seen 1 or 2)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre is good too.
Freddy vs. Jason is usually a good sleepover movie.
Or if youre trying to freak people out get The Ring and then have someone call your house and do the "you will die in 7 days" thing, my dad did that for me and it scared my friends

Stay away from remakes for the most part... I liked Tom Savini's rendition of "Night of The Living Dead," but that is an exception. "Re-animator" is good. "Halloween," "Black Christmas"... again... be sure to get Bob Clark's original. "Scream," "Silver Bullet." "Joy Ride," and "Vacancy" in the similar vein...

If I had to pick from these... and wanted something really scary, thrilling, and off the beaten path... I'd select "Re-animator."

The 'CANDY MAN' is not really scary but stays in your head!
'SLITHER' is horrible!
