Some good conscious tracks are Paris, Tokyo by Lupe Fiasco, Bun B f Lupe Fiasco - Swang on 'Em, and a song I think a lot of people need to hear is You never know by Immortal Technique. Sorry if you like people like Lil Wayne. If you do, you probably won't even understand the lyrics in those songs.

Modern hip hop sucks. It's basically lost its original sound in favor of a bubble-gum pop sound that can work as crossover and go big on the charts. To find good hip hop, you have to go old school.

I actually agree with both thecool and mjax1979,
Lil wayne didnt even compose his own first album.
Look up gillie the kid, he wrote pretty much all of his first album songs.

I dont just listen to newer stuff, I also listen to older stuff too.
