Ants are no danger to plants - most of them are actually good pollinators. They also do a pretty good cleanup job - getting rid of dead bugs and exudate. Peonies are full of them, just shake them off before you bring them into the house

If ants establish a nest inside a plant pot it is possible to encourage them to move to another home by flooding the pot.
