We do have lots of information on how to become an advisor, both on the advisors page, and if you use the site search 'how to become an advisor' the upper right.
What we look for:
good grammar, punctuation, spelling, willingness to be helpful, active participation, and a positive attitude.
The advisors either ask to be promoted or we invite them, for giving good advice, having solid command of English, being courteous of other members, etc.
After you've been on the site for a while & give a bit of good advice, then contact Thedude and we'll promote you.
I never understand this random eagerness to be an advisor. Maybe if advisors were the only ones allowed to give advice, but that isn't even the case.
...positive attitude? Mehhh...I'm out.
Hey well I just became an advisor today! Fun mail econsult1, thedude or editor and tell them you would like to become one. You have to have good grammar and spelling, answer at least 50 questions and be on this site for at least a month! Hope this helped! Any more questions just fun mail me!
