Sometimes detectives have to work "under-cover" which could mean disguising as someone else. Since they may need to gather information without being noticed, a detective might choose to wear a garbage mans uniform or pose as a flower delivery person.
A detective's job is always changing and is almost never the same each day. One day it might involve interviewing people and the next may be spent at the computer gathering information.
If you like experiencing different places and people, this may be the job for you. Detectives often get to go places that they wouldn't otherwise go and meet people they wouldn't otherwise meet.

challenging work, especially for people who like to problem solve. Although this job can be very exciting
it can also be boring and even dangerous at times.

Being a detective can be a very sad job. Since most detective jobs are to solve crimes (which may include murder), they are exposed to many hurting people drugs, crime, etc.
