3 month old doxen humping my 14 yr old daughters leg?

Asked by sunflowermom 7 months ago, 6 answers.

I got my daughter a doxen for her birthday. Shes like 3 or 4 months old. Shes adorable but I've found that she likes to chew on dirty pads and hump our legs?? She digs in the trash can to get the pads out and if we close the bathroom door she scratches...

and it gets annoying and ruins the finish on my doors. I'd throw them in the kitchen but I have little kids and it really would be a pain in the ass for me to try to explain it to a 4 and 5 yr old or to take the toilet paper and pads out to the outside trash can everytime. Why does she do this and what can I do to stop her?

lol thats normal babe. theyre dogs. it would be worse if it was a male dog. just warn your daughter not to sit down infront of it without underwear unless she wants to get hooked to being licked... happy
as for wear to put the pads... what would be so bad about telling your kids? they'll learn eventually. but if you're uncomfortable you could just do what becca suggested and say you'll tell them later or you could just find somewhere else for the can. good luck dolly

Try putting the pads in a plastic bag and tying it tightly right after, and *then* put them in the trash can. If you throw them in the can bare as they are they can both be seen (by the kids) and smelled (by the dog). If they're in the tied bag though, they'll be away from the eye and the smell will stay in as much as possible. Then use one of those anti-scent sprays they use in restaurant bathrooms - spray it in the trash can every once in a while to block the smell even more and confuse the dog. And lastly, file your dog's claws - a lot of owners do that, it's very practical and your doors will stay pretty happy Oh, and no, don't tell 4 year olds, they won't understand and will just be worried - I mean, however you put it, bleeding is *always* scary to a child no matter the explanation. Don't tell them you'll tell them later either, that will just make them curious and they won't stop bugging you about it. Or they may think it's something wrong or bad and hence must be kept a secret. Liberal or not, there's a time for everything.

Add a few drops of citronella to the pads. Most animals hate the smell. Your daughter could put it on her legs if she wants to - but unfortunately most humans hate the smell, too...
