By law no, but if he lives in your home then you can give him rules to abide by.

Parents can do what they like...at any age. Say if I did something terrible...and I am nearly 35...my parents could take me out of their Will, or never talk to me again. But they would find it difficult to spank me.

LOL I'm 26, married, two kids - and I'm in my own house. My mom STILL finds ways to punish me. They have no legal reign, but as far as I see it - its a guilt factor. My mom knows I'll answer my phone when she calls... so I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.

However, if you live under their roof - then yes. You do technically have to abide by their rules.

If you live in their house then you must abide by their rules. If you don't want to be punished for the things you do then move out.

By the way, my parents still find ways to punish me and I'm married with 3 kids and I moved out 10 years ago.

A parent can do what they want... However it is up to you whether you will deal with the punishment or not... You can move out, you can stand up to them and say no (again risking them kicking you out if you live at home), again, a person only has as much power over you as you give them...

I believe you can punish your child until the day they die. Who cares what the law says. love the old saying, "I brought you in thid world and I can take you out". It's not like when a child become s acertain age you stop being a parent. You should always want to be respectful and one great terms withy our parents, regardless of age. Then you wouldn't have to worry about being punished.

If you live on your own (away from your parents) then no. But if you still live with your parents, then yes. That person is an adult now. so yeah...

if you live with them I dont think so I mean youre an adult now, you should be able to make youre own mistakes and be able to know right from wrong I get that everyone makes mistakes but I think you know if youve made a mistake.
